Motivation - Inspiration

Years ago I had a natural weaving hung on my bedroom wall full of gathered wonders found on hikes taken with friends and family. When I moved, it was to fragile to take with me... four years later, I have another one ready for mother nature's treasures. It motivates and inspires me to get outside more and be present to all that surrounds me.

Artist

"Every Artist is a Thief"

I believe everyone is an artist. The word "artist" has a lot of preconceived ideas locked behind it and keeps people from claiming that title. No matter what you are doing, it can be done with great creativity. One of the biggest things is finding that inspiration. Julia Cameron is famous for her, what she calls "Artist Dates" http://juliacameronlive.com/basic-tools/artists-dates. There is enough for everyone, and inspiration is everywhere ~ let yourself explore. Julia Cameron says "Artist dates are assigned play." I am guilty of not allowing myself more "time to play and get inspired" but with awareness comes change!

Ripple...

I subscribe to http://www.positivelypositive.com and it always gives me food for thought. One of my favorite things is the "ripple effect." It doesn't have to be big things, or things that require a lot of money: a smile, a compliment, a helping hand, a positively positive thought, a meal, and the list goes one. There are wonderful stories out there in the world of strangers giving to one another ( random acts of kindness). People have given to me and expect nothing in return and I have done the same. I always tell them to pass it on. Need more inspiration http://www.goodnewsnetwork.org is full of "make you smile" kind of stories.

Inspiration...

See... it's never to late to accomplish-anything!!!

Man Who Learned to Read at 91, Writes a Book at 98

For 91 years, James Henry, a lifelong fisherman, did not know how to read and write and carried the shame of not being able to order from a menu.

It had been his life's ambition to read.

Now 98, the Connecticut captain has achieved that, and more, penning a memoir of short stories about his life at sea.

After nearly a year of tutoring, the captain from Mystic began writing stories by hand on a yellow legal pad.

From those short stories, the memoir "A Fisherman's Language" was born.
