Kitchen...
My middle son has taken a liken to being in the kitchen, whether it's baking or cooking. He has become very helpful when I'm cooking dinner, he'll come in and work on part of it while I'm working on another part of dinner. One evening I knew I was going to be home late, so I asked him to fix a meal he knew how to fix for him and his sister and I would eat when I got home. Boy was that nice... I walked in the door, took my coat off and dinner only had to be warmed up and it was ready. A girl could get use to that!!! But it's really nice to to have him participate making the meals and just hang out together, gathering more tips and ideas for thing he wants to make.

Phones...
Today I am grateful for cell phones. I am not a real tech savvy person and most of the things the phones do I have NO idea how to use them or am really not interested in them. But I have found texting to be a wonderful way to keep in touch from across the miles. It seems most of the people in my life that I hold dear, are scattered about and just being able to text and say "hi" or chat a little, right now in my life seems priceless. I tend to isolate myself and without the quick easy way to keep people close in my life I would be very alone and lost. I am grateful!!!

Artist

"Every Artist is a Thief"
I believe everyone is an artist. The word "artist" has a lot of preconceived ideas locked behind it and keeps people from claiming that title. No matter what you are doing, it can be done with great creativity. One of the biggest things is finding that inspiration. Julia Cameron is famous for her, what she calls "Artist Dates" http://juliacameronlive.com/basic-tools/artists-dates. There is enough for everyone, and inspiration is everywhere ~ let yourself explore. Julia Cameron says "Artist dates are assigned play." I am guilty of not allowing myself more "time to play and get inspired" but with awareness comes change!

Road Trippin'...
Today my daughter and I decided to spend the day driving to Kernersville to visit the mobile http://www.sketchbookproject.com/where. It was so much fun! We both participated in the sketchbook project this past year and it was inspiring to see other peoples creative ideas from all over the globe. Plus it was surrounded by the beautiful Botanical Gardens http://www.cienerbotanicalgarden.org . All in all it was an awesome day.
