Kitchen...

My middle son has taken a liken to being in the kitchen, whether it's baking or cooking. He has become very helpful when I'm cooking dinner, he'll come in and work on part of it while I'm working on another part of dinner. One evening I knew I was going to be home late, so I asked him to fix a meal he knew how to fix for him and his sister and I would eat when I got home. Boy was that nice... I walked in the door, took my coat off and dinner only had to be warmed up and it was ready. A girl could get use to that!!! But it's really nice to to have him participate making the meals and just hang out together, gathering more tips and ideas for thing he wants to make.

Sister Love...

My sister and I chatted today and our stories are different but our hearts are the same. We each want self-love, self-acceptance and a need to feel validated, supported and loved by someone. I think that is what we are are looking for and we each must find our path that speaks to our soul. So as my sister and I journey together may we remember to continue to hold our hearts in the present moment and offer the love that only a sister can offer to the other.

Proud...

The other day I attempted to can some broth I made to give as a gift to my sister. I had never canned before and I just did a lot of google searches and watching YouTube videos to try and piece enough information together to attempt it. I was a little hesitant, thinking I might blow up my kitchen but I learned it does have a escape valve on the top to keep that from happening... Whew! But I was so proud of myself because I have a really really hard time starting things, especially things like that I have never done before. And I don't usually even try things because I'm to scared of the process. It was a small victory in my personal growth to keep trying!!!!

You've Got Mail...

As a child, my sister and mom found it funny because I loved checking the mail and I always got so excited when I found something for me. That hasn't changed, I still love going to the mailbox to see what's there. And when I was a child writing letters and sending cards was more of a common thing then it is now. So yesterday when I checked my mail I found this card addressed to me from a friend I've missed and haven't been able to see in quit awhile. It was special because it wasn't my birthday or a holiday, it was just a card to say "thinking about you", and wanting to know how my life is and catching me up on what's new in her life. It made my heart smile and brought back a sweet memory. Thank you dear friend... it was greatly appreciated!!!

Driver...

I got away for a short time to my sisters, so most of the cousins could participate in "The Color Run" http://thecolorrun.com/ together. But the best part for me, was that my niece came by and drove my daughter and I to her mom's house. Driving is one, if not my least favorite thing to do. So it was really a nice treat to be a passenger and enjoy the scenery, read or do whatever I wanted. I always said if I won the lottery, the first thing I would do is hire a permeant driver to drive me any and everywhere.

Sisters...

I'm going to visit my sister and her family soon. My sister is the only sibling I have and we have always been as different as night and day, or so it seemed growing up. But reflecting back maybe we weren't so different in the way I thought. I think we each took the situation we were given and handled it differently. But as I sit in this present moment I think we're more alike then I realize. She's creative, loves to cook, loves being a mom just like me. So I have taken our lives, turned them around to be able to see them from a different angle, and what I see is maybe a match made in heaven.

Love you dear sis...
