Kitchen...

My middle son has taken a liken to being in the kitchen, whether it's baking or cooking. He has become very helpful when I'm cooking dinner, he'll come in and work on part of it while I'm working on another part of dinner. One evening I knew I was going to be home late, so I asked him to fix a meal he knew how to fix for him and his sister and I would eat when I got home. Boy was that nice... I walked in the door, took my coat off and dinner only had to be warmed up and it was ready. A girl could get use to that!!! But it's really nice to to have him participate making the meals and just hang out together, gathering more tips and ideas for thing he wants to make.

Finally...

Yesterday I finally got a chance to connect with friends I use to see weekly. It had been at least a month or two but it seemed like forever. It was nice to laugh and just sit in each others company. The evening was beautiful just like the time spent together with friends!

Precious Time...

Today I had such high hopes for... I don't know. Something other then feeling blah. Mentally I couldn't seem to get myself to a better place and as much as I've told myself it was okay, it's hard feeling like I've wasted precious time.  I've pushed myself to "do things" but all I really wanted to do was - NOTHING! I kept doing things hoping the funk would lift but it hasn't, so as the evening coming, I guess "the mood" will too. It's all going to be okay... right?

A day...

Today my daughter had a tough day of great anxiety, so we just hung out together running errands and taking extra special care of her gentle soul. She seems to be feeling better this evening and it's in tending to one's soul, when needed, that we can move forward and allow the present moment to flow.

Capture...

I was coming back from a trip to the grocery store and it was about 10 minutes after 5 in the evening. The setting sun was so beautiful, leaving a golden hue lingering behind the barren tree limbs. I got my cell phone out to try and capture the moment, but it wasn't working. It was a good reminder that some present moments aren't meant to be captured, only enjoyed and let go.

Candles...

I love candles! They provide such a safe and warm feeling in the evening when the sun has gone down and night arrives. I have a fireplace, but it uses regular logs and once they have burned down your left with the cold air coming in through the flue until it has cooled off enough to close it. So candles provides me that oh so nice "pretend" fire feeling. My oldest son laughs because I always ask for candles every year and he says I'm the only person he know that actually uses candles when there given.

Night...

"Good Night Moon"
(a favorite book I use to read to my children)

Night has arrived and I am going to nestle in and enjoy the quiet, peaceful evening ahead. There is something about the day ending and the darkness blanketing the day that I love. Good night world, I will be back tomorrow.
