Grows...

"A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there."

I'm trying today to grow beyond my beautiful comfort zone... It's not easy!

Money...

I love money. I think money is meant to bring joy and to be shared. All of my life, by American standards, I've lived "very poor." I am always grateful for whatever I had/have, but it has become part of my "comfort zone." So I find myself with the potential of making more money and feeling intimidated by how to use it to the best of its ability. I have no doubt that I know how to handle, the joy and sharing part, but what brings me uncomfortableness is, how to do things like, use an accountant, file the right taxes, investing to grow it, etc. I've always had so little that there was never a need for those kind of services. But it is something I want to learn and explore and not let this simple acts keep me from using my gifts and allowing the abundance of money into my life.

Comfort Zone...

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."

I've heard this quote so many times, but for me it pays to repeat it over and over again! I want SO much to get further in my life and venture out, but I know staying comfortable is not going to make that happen. What it comes down to for me to live in that space is...

TRUST
SURRENDER
ALLOW

Limelight...

I've spent most of my life in the shadows and I felt at the time I liked it that way. But life keeps calling me out into the light to be seen and I have to say it's something that is WAY out of my comfort zone and something I must continue to respond with a "yes - I'm all in!" I heard at the conference I went too, that the more I stretch myself and go beyond my comfort zone I will build a "new normal." So here I go... tip toeing out into the light every so slowly.

Sunday...

What I observed today...

I was braver then yesterday
I stepped outside of my comfort zone
Met some great people
Shared meals
I'm a wealth of information and people want to hear what I have to say

Saturday...

What did I observe today?

I like Quiet time
I need the out doors to keep my sanity
I can hang in a crowd if I have to but its out of my comfort zone
strangers can be kind
I'm passionate about my business
I have generous friends
I'm learning to show up for myself

until tomorrow...

Change...

Change is hard sometimes, even in the smallest of things. I've had to recently change banks and I'm trying to get use to the new system. It seems like a small thing and I know once I get use to it, a year from now it will seem easy. But right now I just want to scream " I don't want to change, I liked it the way it was." Not so much because I loved where I was banking but because it was familiar. Good reminder that familiar is not always the best place to be. I guess I feel like I have so much stepping out of my comfort zone right now in my life I didn't welcome this unexpected change. But life, if nothing else, is about change, and I can either go kicking and screaming or allow it to be. So today I allowed myself to kick and scream a little and that's okay.

Courage...

A friend of mine had a vision/collage get-together that I was not able to attend. It was to start off the new year with a word and vision you wanted to focus on through out the year. Mine I decided, was going to be COURAGE. I need courage to step out of my comfort zone and into the unknown. If I am to create what I want in my life, then courage is what I need! Courage doesn't come with a manual, so I will borrow from what life has to offer.
Other people's lives offer insight into what it means to be courageous, quotes keep me reminded, and practice of showing up for myself is a daily dose of courage. A wise man once said,

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. "
