Fine LIne...

Being an introvert its a fine line to know when your taking time to recharge from the world or your isolating. What I've noticed since I don't get to hang out with my group of friends much anymore is that without that planned scheduled time we use to get, I find myself closing off and isolating. So it has been a struggle for me to stay connected even the littlest amount. I've just started working on sending a text out once a week to family or friends. And as silly as it seems, I find that hard to do. I put it off everyday and then I make myself send it. This also makes it a difficult challenge to expose myself in my business http://www.wholefood-living.com/, so I'm hoping that this small practice will be a start to getting myself out there, starting with staying connected to those I know are safe and love me.

None...

"What you think of me is none of my business."

I was reminded of this quote yesterday and it was perfect for what I was feeling. I use to say this a lot to myself but it slipped from my memory, so I was grateful it was given to me just when I needed it.

Resume...

This week I turned in my resume to a business and when they called me in, the lady thought I was fascinating! My resume can be casually looked at and someone could think, "she has done a lot of things and not always for very long, so I'm not sure about her, or when you hand it to the right person who knows where your coming from and why your resume looks like that, you become "Fascinating."

Habit...

"They"say it takes a consistent amount of time ( a little different for each person) to form new habits. As I was doing my yoga this morning, I thought, I think this is finally becoming somewhat of a habit. I don't know how long I've been doing it because when I use to keep tract, all that did was make me feel bad about all the times I wasn't accomplishing it, so now I just "do it." There are more things I would like to form habits to in my life, like ~ more writing and working on my business. I will give myself a pat on the back for writing on my personal blog ( A Present Moment) consistently, so now it's up and onward to new habit's that will enrich my life!

Confidence...

A friend of mine told me once I just needed more "confidence." If only I could go to the store and buy some, but since that is not an option I will have to find it somewhere "within." I know that's where my "comparing" comes from and my avoiding working on my business.  There is no magic answer other then just - as the saying goes... "Just do it" and the confidence will follow! Sounds simple doesn't it?

The Sales Pitch...

"You sell yourself on the idea that you are more than you previously believed yourself to be. "

Having your own business means selling yourself. For me that has to be one of the hardest parts. Whether it's zucchini your selling or yourself, you have to believe it what your doing - and I do! And then there's that "yes-but" and working through that feeling to get to the other side. I know when I accomplish one group I will be better then when I started and just a little more confident the next time.
My mantra today is
" I can do this! I believe in what I'm doing!  I can do this!"

Wrong Way...

I've finally decided what direction I want to go with my meal planning business. I want to specialize in helping those discover "You are what you eat." I want people to experience what I experienced years ago as I watched my children's behavior transform when they ate different food. It has been my passion for almost 20 years. I want to walk people through that transition and for those wanting alternatives to know what to choose when faced with food allergies. I have been gluten and dairy free for years, and you can have wonderfully delicious food. So even though I was going the "wrong way", I have found my way back home and I'm excited!

A Village...

There is a saying ~ "It takes a village to raise a child."~ this could also pertain to raising a creative idea.  My idea for a meal planning business doesn't happen on it's own. It has the support of my family and friends ~ my village! I was thinking about that and how most if not all great ideas and creativity are born with help from others. Leaving me with overwhelming gratitude. Thank you...ALL

Virtual Walk...

I'm working on my meal planning business today and my brain needed a little stretch, so I'm going on a virtual nature walk. This picture looked so inviting and intriguing as to what beauty lays around the bend. I can just feel the sunshine, as my mind drinks in the scenery. Nature always restores my spirit.

It's never to late...

Be Inspired...

Working dreams won’t get you rich. But amazing things happen when you take risks.

In summer of ’98, I sold my drum kit for gas money and convinced my college roommate to drive me from Ithaca to San Diego. All I kept was a pack of Field Notes and my Beach Boys records. “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” was playing and it was at that moment that I decided to invest in myself. I had thirty bucks, a landline, and a ton of motivation.

I have never written a business plan, yet I have three businesses that I’ve been running for over a decade now. I can’t read a lick of sheet music, yet I’ve toured the world managing bands. You wouldn’t want me to adjust your camera’s F-stop, yet I’ve worked on three films and produced a web series.

I don’t know anything about book publishing, so naturally, I wrote and self-published a book.

I’ve never been overly great at drawing, but I’ve been an art director on projects for Zappos, MTV, and TOMS. I don’t drive a Ford, but I’m continually hired to help promote their vehicles.

I grew up attending public schools and battled with reading comprehension, yet now I’m invited to lecture at Ivy Leagues.

I don’t own cable television, but I’ve licensed music to Californication, Nip/Tuck, CSI, and Grey’s Anatomy. CSS, HTML, and Java mean nothing to me, yet I’m preparing to launch an iPhone app.

Life changes the minute you start doing what you love. And guess what—it’s never too late to get started.
