Goals...

All of my children are older ( youngest being 19 1/2) and for the last month or so the two that still live with me have been talking about short and long range goals of moving on their own. It's a natural pregression of life but it feels weird and awesome at the same time. I'm so happy that they feel that their life is ready for that step in the future. Right now it's only in the planning and thinking stage but it's there and my mind has to wrap around the thought that it will all be different one day. Life moves on...

Barefoot...

One of my favorite things I look forward to when I'm out in the world doing things where I have to wear shoes is ~ taking them off! My feet feel so free and able to connect again to the earth. I've been a barefoot girl since I was a young child and I still love that barefoot feeling. One of my goals is to buy some toe shoes http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/index.htm ( there are a lot of other sites I just picked one to show you) so my feet can be closer to mother earth even when wearing "shoes."

Safety Net...

As I was dog walking yesterday, I got to thinking a lot about the "unknown." As much as my life feels like I'm walking into the unknown right now, when I think about it deeper, each day is really a big unknown. I can make goals, write lists, plan ahead, but each present moment does not come with a guarantee that you will have another. Anything can happen in any given moment... So if I think I'm holding on to a safety net, I'm kidding myself. I walk beside the unknown everyday whether I am aware or not.

Goals...

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results"

So today I am going to try something different and email a couple of friends everyday with my goals for the day. They are each sent and received without judgement.  Not that this is the magic cure for my procrastination or distractibility but it is something I haven't tried before so in time, we will see what the results are. Thanks for the suggestion my friend!

Writing...

Goals like writing a novel don’t die on their own. We suffocate them with our excuses.

I came across this line in a magazine about writing. How true this is for me!!!! I should write a book called "Endless Excuses" and dedicate it to myself. But keeping with the theme of being kinder to myself, I will pat myself on the back for writing more diligently on my blog. At least I'm writing and thinking about writing and that's a "good thing". Something I can celebrate about myself and not look at what I think I'm NOT doing. I've been enjoying my time everyday, pondering what to say here in this present moment and in this musing space. So until tomorrow ~ Enjoy what makes you happy!
