Sewing...

When I was a young girl my mother taught me to sew and I loved it. I use to make some of my own clothes and even made myself a bathing suit once. And when I became a mother I made Halloween costumes every year, a prom dress and some of their everyday clothes. And there was always the many crafts to be sewn that I loved creating too. Then a few years ago I started sewing for a lady as a job and I did it for about eight years. It sucked the fun out of my sewing and since I've stopped working for her I've had a really hard time getting myself back to the sewing machine. It just sits there with endless projects in front of it and a longing. But I want to find that love again for sewing. Like everything else... one stitch at a time... one project at a time... the love will return!

Missed...

I don't remember the last day I've written on my personal blog this week, but I do know I've missed it. I made a commitment to myself over a year ago that I would show up for my writing, no matter how small and I've done that by writing everyday on my blog. But this was an exceptionally busy ( in a good way) week and I was SO tired when I got home I couldn't even see straight. So I will just be kind and tell myself I do a great job and just because I fell off the wagon, so to speak, I will continue to show up and share my thoughts.

A Mother...

~ Happy Mothers Day ~

I love Mothers Day not for the breakfast in bed, not for the thoughtful gift, but that it's a day that celebrates the best job in the world! Growing up, there is nothing I wanted to do or be then a mother. The choices I made throughout my life didn't always work out like I'd planned and my vision of what kind of mother I wanted to be had to be altered, but I was still the best mother I could and that is good enough.  I love offering those in need of a little "extra mothering" that special touch that only a mother can give. And it doesn't matter who they are, we all want our moms and to be loved ~ there is enough LOVE for everyone.
