No Where...

Today was a day of rest for me. I did somethings around the house but mostly just did things I enjoyed. I read my book, I worked on my art journal, I slept in late, I worked on my health food blog, and most of all I went no where. That was the greatest thing of all!!!!

Late...

When I wait to write my blog until it late ( 9 o'clock pm) I sit looking at the screen trying to remember what it was earlier in the day that I was going to write about. I forget to write my ideas down ( still thinking I'm going to remember later - not!!!) and then I have nothing. Being a morning person when the day turns into night my brain shuts down. So I'm hoping tomorrow I will get my blogging done earlier and be inspired!

Do you Use...

Do you use your college degree now; if you could do it over again would you attend college?

I can only answer this with the wisdom of hind site except the part of "do I use my college degree," and that answer would be no. If I know what I know now I would not attend college and I would set my creative spirit free, the one that I let myself and others keep locked up, imprisoned with all the rules, advise and pursuit of perfection. Going to college did one thing, it gave me the confidence that I did have the ability to learn ~ a feeling I lacked in grade school when I was told that I had a learning problem and was put in the "special class" with only a handful of other students. Everyone that walked by the room knew who was in there! And my mother never missed a chance to share this information. I do believe college is suited for some and some people it is not. I don't regret it, because like all past decisions, you can't change them, so I took what I liked from the experience and left the rest.

This is a cooperative blog that a friend and I are participating in together, so check out what she has to say about this question from her perspective http://gentlegull.blogspot.com/

Missing...

I miss my blog writing. It's become my place to show up for myself and without my computer, the simplicity of my musing has become a challenge... but not impossible to get done! Hope to get back on track soon.

Art...

Art is something that comes from a place of inspiration and I was inspired by a friends art piece she posted on her blog http://gentlegull.blogspot.com/2014/07/healing-through-art-journaling.html. Above you will see what I have done... I was happy with the way it turned out and it was really fun. When I sat down with the blank page, I didn't really have an idea, but then one idea turned into another and when I was finished "it was all good." Hope you find something to inspire you today : )

Story...

As I often do, I look for quotes to spark an idea to write for my blog. Today as I was scrolling, I come across some of the same ones I see a lot, like: "She believed she could, so she did." or " There is only one way to succeed at anything and that is to give everything." These are all well and good, and they do boost my enthusiasm but at the end of the day I'm still stuck. That is why I'm reaching out to talk to someone. I need someone's constant presence for awhile to walk me through this place. Sometimes it takes more then just believing and sometimes it takes asking for a hand to hold while you try. I have issues that have kept me in relationships and paralyzed in other areas of my life from stories I've been told and I've believed over the years and I now have space in my life to dig deeper.

Missed...

I don't remember the last day I've written on my personal blog this week, but I do know I've missed it. I made a commitment to myself over a year ago that I would show up for my writing, no matter how small and I've done that by writing everyday on my blog. But this was an exceptionally busy ( in a good way) week and I was SO tired when I got home I couldn't even see straight. So I will just be kind and tell myself I do a great job and just because I fell off the wagon, so to speak, I will continue to show up and share my thoughts.

Writing...

There is a free writing group starting tomorrow at my local library and I'm excited. I tell people I'm a writer who never writes. Even though that isn't completely true ( I do write two blogs) but it feels like it because I'm not writing all that I'd like. And these last few years have been the longest I've not been in a writing group, which I miss. It will be nice to be back in touch with those that like to write.

My Six Senses...

I saw a post on someone's blog the other day about their five senses, so I thought it would be an interesting idea to write mine down today and add in the sixth.

Tasting: crunchy granola, beans and rice, toast with peanut butter. water with lemon, bean soup

Hearing: birds singing, tv, roaring cars, children's laughter, clanging dishes

Seeing: grocery store, cars, computers, my backyard, my home,

Smelling: beans cooking, burritos baking, fresh laundry

Knowing: All is well and I am safe, I am loved

New Life...

"Living your dreams doesn’t come from one big shift or prize in the cereal box. It’s consistent dedication to small, fervent, meaningful acts that add up to create a whole new life."
Words by: Tama J. Kieves

This is one of the reasons I've started showing up for myself and writing on my blog everyday. It's a way of honoring myself and moving towards - consistent dedication to small, fervent, meaningful acts. I feel that it is starting to shift over to other area's of my life that I'm working on, at a slow steady pace. All with the intention of creating a whole new life.

Inspired...

When my niece went off to college she decided to write on her blog everyday for a month and I thought if she can show up for herself, well I can too. I have been trying to find ways to "put myself out there" in the world, a little at a time, to learn to "show up" for myself and I thought this would be a good way to start. It is so neat to look around at the people in your life and watch and learn from them. Everyone has something to give, to be inspired by. Sometimes it maybe that what they are doing inspires me to decide that is not what I want in my life and I can be thankful that they were there to help me see what it is I don't want as well as the people who show me the kind of things I do want. We are all unique and the same. We look at life through different filters and lenses and pass in and out of each others lives when needed. I am grateful I can choose what I want for my life and what I don't. And when I forget there is always someone who comes along and reminds me... THANK YOU ALL... for just being you!
