Woke up...

The first thing my brain did when I woke up this morning was start comparing myself to others. This person was doing this, that person was achieving this, and my self critic started filling my mind with negative talk. I tried not to let it throw me off for the whole day. I allowed the voices to be there and while choosing to ignore them, I struggled on and off and worked on things I "had" to do but also on things that make me smile. So by the end of the day I was feeling better... and had stopped comparing.

Late...

When I wait to write my blog until it late ( 9 o'clock pm) I sit looking at the screen trying to remember what it was earlier in the day that I was going to write about. I forget to write my ideas down ( still thinking I'm going to remember later - not!!!) and then I have nothing. Being a morning person when the day turns into night my brain shuts down. So I'm hoping tomorrow I will get my blogging done earlier and be inspired!

Mush...

Not sure the picture related, but I LOVE tree's and it was to pretty to pass up!

I'm not sure what is going on with me this week and sometimes I don't need to find an explanation, but I have just felt like my body AND mind have been like "mush" this week. I kept hoping it would get better but it's Thursday and I'm still feeling like everything is off kilter. I push myself to do what I have to, but the spring in my step has not returned. I usually have a day or two of feeling a bit off but not usually a week. I'm trying to offer no resistance and listen to my mind, body and spirit, hopefully to gain insight and maybe feel the passing of this "funk."

Fine Line...

I told someone the other day that I wasn't a "needy" person and then the next day I had MAJOR stress happen and I was afraid to call or reach out because I just said I wasn't needy. But I got to thinking about it and is reaching out really needy? I guess my life had been so saturated with "needy" people for so long, I get confused and think I should be strong and not ask for a shoulder to cry on. Well another thought pattern to rearrange in my brain ~ having someone to lean on when they offer, is not "needy" but maybe actually a strength.

Sleep deprived...

I'm a person who needs eight hours of sleep and when I only get a couple hours like I did yesterday, it's a tough day for me. I completely forgot to post and I'm sure a multitude of other things I forgot I needed to do. My brain lacked sleep and I was functioning but nobody was home! Feeling better today with my sleep quote back... Aaahhhhh I do love my sleep!

Our Brain...

"The human brain has the capacity to store everything that you experience"

Our brain is amazing! If it holds everything we have experienced then it's left up to us to give that experience meaning. It's so easy to give what seemed like a "bad" experience a bad meaning, instead of seeing the good. When I'm in the middle of those thoughts, it usually takes me awhile to sort out what meaning I want to assign it. The cup is either half full or half empty, it's whatever meaning we place on it. And sometimes I have to keep re-deciding the meaning before it sticks.
