Sewing...

When I was a young girl my mother taught me to sew and I loved it. I use to make some of my own clothes and even made myself a bathing suit once. And when I became a mother I made Halloween costumes every year, a prom dress and some of their everyday clothes. And there was always the many crafts to be sewn that I loved creating too. Then a few years ago I started sewing for a lady as a job and I did it for about eight years. It sucked the fun out of my sewing and since I've stopped working for her I've had a really hard time getting myself back to the sewing machine. It just sits there with endless projects in front of it and a longing. But I want to find that love again for sewing. Like everything else... one stitch at a time... one project at a time... the love will return!

Free...

Keeping a journal has always been a big part of my life, it gave me a voice when I felt I had none. I've kept a journal since I was a teen and over the years it has taken different forms. My most recent is my art journal that I've posted about before. I've enjoyed seeing textures, color and whatever my little heart feels like creating. I consider it a journal even though I don't always write in it but my thoughts are the same just expressed in a different way.
Posted above is a 30 day journal project for FREE if  you want to give it a try... Hope you enjoy the process as much as I have. Try doing it with a friend... it's a whole lot of fun!!!

Creative Process...

This Christmas bulb in the picture is something I've been working on for a couple of days now. It's not perfect but that is okay and that is an unusual feeling for me when it comes to creativity. I just decided to wing it and see what I came up with. My oldest son got married two months ago and I wanted to make something using the invitation. Over my many years around this planet, I usually would not even attempt this project because I thought I might fail so I would never even start. So I have to say I'm quite proud of myself. I good feeling to close out another Christmas, another year!

Butterflies...

Sometimes when I don't know what I'm going to write about, I look through pictures and a memory emerges. This picture reminded me of when my children were young and we sent away for a kit to watch butterflies grow and then release them. It was a fun project and a sweet memory!

Love like the sun...

"When people stand up and shine their light, it shines a light on other people's darkness. When someone is sending me negativity or hate, its not because I'm wrong or did something wrong, it's a projection of what's inside them onto me. And the same goes for me. When I'm in a negative or angry state, I tend to project that state onto others.
My aim in life is to try to love like the sun - which shines on everyone the same."

It's hard sometimes to remember whatever someone is saying to me is their own reflection from their interpretation. But the same is true for me to them. It's a good reminder as I go to a gathering of friends today to - love like the sun - which shines on everyone the same! And that would include myself. I find the more I can embrace and love myself the less I project onto others because I come from a place of pure love.

Does it really matter...

As I was driving down the road today coming back from meeting with someone who helped me get a lot done on a project, I thought, " Does it really matter what didn't get done, yesterday is gone and the future has not happened yet. What matters is what I do in this present moment."
