Fast...

I came across this in a book and thought it would be good practice to do for one day. I find I can be very critical of myself, so going on a "criticism fast" would help bring awareness and help remind me to be kinder to myself when I am imperfect and human. Self - Forgiveness is something I work on daily and I have to choose situation by situation just as I hope to continue to work on the harsh judgement I place upon myself.

The Criticism Fast

For one day resolve, "I will criticize nothing that occurs today. I will imagine everything that happens is for my good and the good of others. I will release myself from the judgements I have laid upon myself. I will see myself, my motivations and my actions as pure. I will not agree with the critical or judgmental words or attitudes of others. I will not deny the good within and around me. I give this entire day to the celebration of good."

Glaring...

Today I am humbled by my humanness. A situation in my life today gave me a glaring view of my humanness and it was very bright. And sometimes an apology is the only thing one has to offer the other. I tend to beat myself up over and over again for not being perfect and having caused someone, even if unintentionally harm. I will work on being kind to myself today and once again, pick up forgiveness for myself, and reach for my acceptance, that mistakes are part of the human experience. It hurts my heart today and I know I can not go back and change anything, so today is a somber day of reflection and another chance to accept "all" parts of me, not just the pretty ones.

Myself...

Forgiveness for me has not been a one time thing, especially when it's about me. Recently a recurring  situation came up and with that, it drew my attention to feelings I realize I've not fully forgiven myself for. So with awareness comes growth, and I once again have to be kind and forgive myself. One day something will bring it back to my attention and I will know the process of forgiveness for that issue will be done.

Forgiveness...

"The answer to resistance is always forgiveness. Don't beat yourself up for what you didn't do yesterday or for the past three weeks or twenty seven years. Don't get lost in analyzing, rhapsodizing, or building monuments to your failure. Start now! Choose now! Enter the wondrous healing space of the only moment there is, this present moment."

I need to read this each and everyday to remind myself "it's never to late" and beating myself up for what feels like lost years, solves NOTHING! I can ~ Choose Now ~ this present moment!

Forgiveness...

There are many definitions of forgiveness and one of them I like a lot is:

"The true meaning of forgiveness is in allowing someone the space to find their way"

Having played the role of care taker to many people in my life it is hard for me to step back and let someone find their own way. Even though I don't try to control them or push my opinion on them but I do feel sometimes like if I don't keep letting them know I'm always there no matter what, that it means I don't care. It has been challenging for me to keep moving on with my life and not want to take the others with me. For them to see what I see in them and to pick themselves up and move on too. I know in my head that I can not do that for another. I can not give them self love and self worth but my heart thinks differently. And then there is a fine line between keeping the unconditional love for them alive but still moving on and giving them space. And who am I to think I am so powerful and have all the answers for someone else. I forget the most loving thing I can do for someone is to let them go and to find the path that is right for them, just as others have done for me.
