Security...

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power."
Alan Cohen

A friend posted this quote for me today... I love quotes! I know in each line there is truth, but when I'm in the midst of the false security it feels real. I love the part of the line, " for in movement there is life," it reminds me of a river and how it flows so effortlessly, flowing through each day, each season, over each obstacle. Clinging to what I know is something I can see, moving towards the unknown are all the things I can't see and for me it's a process of learning to find that adventure and excitement  even in the dark, for "in change there is power."

The Web...

"In the spider-web of facts, many a truth is strangled."

Learning to listen to my inner voice is hard sometimes. It takes practice and patience to be still and trust that what I KNOW is what is right for me. Even when the world fills my head with facts and opinions it can get confusing. It's a delicate web, that if built in the right place, can withstand almost any weather.

The River...

“When we stop resisting what we don’t want to feel and embrace the state that we are in, we move through whatever it is SO much faster and find our way back to truth and clarity.”
—Michael Eisen

It feels good when I can be aware of my resistance and just "let it happen."  It does pass much faster and the truth and clarity come quicker. Most of my life I thought if I only held on long enough and was angry enough (because being vulnerable only left you open to the unknown) that somehow I could keep life in control and safe. Little did I know when you open up and let go - stop resisting- the river of life flows much easier.

To Honor and Love...

Sounds like a wedding...
But I'm promising myself this statement ~ to honor and love myself...

To honor myself means ~ as I grow, I will not ignore or hide the parts of my soul and humanness that become more present in me and the world. To honor myself means that I make a commitment to keep the truth of who I am visible; that I will not let the truth of my being become invisible again. Or if it does, I will stay devoted to retrieving it!

A Sad Heart...

Divorce and separation aren't always a "bad" thing, but I always find it saddens my heart just a little when I hear of others going through it. I was listening to a friend last night share her journey with this issue and one of my neighbors (that I am not very close to) but are now going their separate ways. Not sure if it's because I've been there, done that and it strikes a cord with me and I can relate - I don't know. I just know when I encounter it, my heart is sad and always a little surprised that once again it is happening to someone. In someways I don't want to feel any other way. I don't want it to be so expected and normal that it doesn't faze me at all. So for all those I know and those I don't that are going through this situation - I will be thinking of you today.

A friend told me once: that is was better to live for awhile uncomfortable in the truth then comfortable in a lie. I Pick TRUTH...
