Friday Photo...

Leaves... "in" my car. Anyone that knows me, knows my love for leaves. I even have to have them in my car.

What's your Favorite Season...

My favorite season has always been fall. I love the vibrant colors and the leaves as they flutter down covering the ground. I have a slight obsession with leaves and collecting them is something I look forward to and it brings joy to my soul. Then fall leads into winter which over the years I have come to appreciate the silhouette of the trees against the beautiful sky as the trees lay dormant. I'm not fond of the cold weather and I use to dread the coming of the early darkness. But I know it's only temporary and then I have the spring to look forward too. I love something in each season, but fall will always hold a special place!

Again...

" Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale."
Lauren DeStefano

I know, I am talking about fall again and I probable will again soon, but I came across this quote and I just loved it!!! Every time I'm out walking I can't help myself and I come home with leaves I'v picked up and need to dry. This fall is no different... in my house you will find dried leaves just about everywhere.

Tease...

The last couple of days the weather has given us "a tease of fall." It has been more then delightful and exciting to know my favorite season is coming. The leaves will be changing color and dancing as they flutter down to the ground. The weather offers relief from the heat and it will be time to take down my favorite sweater and shaw from the closet and watch the seasons change. I can't wait!!!

Outside...

This is my view when I decided to take my yoga practice outside today. The only think missing is the sound track... birds chirping, the wind fluttering the leaves, cicadas singing and the sound of the morning silence. It was just so beautiful out I couldn't resist!

Association...

The other day while observing natures patterns, colors, textures, I was noticing a lot of green and red combinations. Now my mind associates green and red with Christmas and when I've done drawings or used paint I steer away from putting those two colors together. So it got me thinking about what other things in my life do I associate with that may not be real and finding that awareness to change how I view certain things.
Some of the red and green I came across ~

Roses
Other Red flowers
Red Lady Bug
Berries
 Tomato's
Strawberries
( all have green leaves or the lady bug was on a green leaf )

Brick and Mortar...

I'm so grateful today for Mother Nature and all her beauty. As I was driving around town, from one place to the next, surrounded by roads, cars, and buildings, all I could think of was how I just wanted to walk among the trees and breath! Breath in all the oxygen, hug a tree, dance in the leaves, smell the fragrance of the cool damp woods, and just be in that space. I'm grateful that I have a backyard that provides a small taste of all that and I can recharge and connect when needed.

Mimosa...

This is the season for the Mimosa Tree to be in bloom. With it's beautiful flowers and fragrant smell... the memories rush in. Many a summer my sister and I spent in Florida where my dads family was from. And that is where I was introduced to the awesome Mimosa Tree. I just thought the flowers were so pretty and delicate, and the leaves were light in texture. It kind of has a lingering smell like the honeysuckle, you can smell it from a distance. The Mimosa tree will always make me smile.

My Favorite...

AHHHHHH... It's my favorite time of year again ~ FALL!

I saw yesterday on http://happsters.com/ an idea called the "Fall Bucket list" ~ how cool it that!  I do love making "lists", so why not make one for one of my favorite things ~ . So here it is, and as any list, to be continued...

Nancy's Fall Bucket List
Picnic
Collect leaves
Take more hikes
Make warm soups
Make/Bake all things pumpkin
Wrap myself in a handmade shaw
Open all the windows and invite Fall in
Pick out a pumpkin...

Jumping ahead...

When I saw these leaves my mind jumped ahead and was anxious for the fall season. There are elements I enjoy about each season and I don't want to loose what's in front of me right now, looking for what's to come. A colorful reminder to stay in the "present moment."

It's beginning to look a lot like fall...

Some of my favorite things:

Mums
Pumpkins
Crisp fall air
Open Windows
Leaves changing color
Acorns crunching under my shoe
New Harvest of vegetables planted

Experiencing each in the present moment with family and friends - is the BEST!
