Fish out of water...

"The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned."
Maya Angelou

As my search for my forever home continues, I've realized I'm feeling like a "fish out of water." I'm such a homebody and a home is a place of refuge and a place to recharge from the world for me. But I am forever grateful for the refuge I do have among people who have provided a safe and loving place to be while I turn the page of this new chapter in my and my children's lives. Today in this present moment I will breathe deeply and remember this quote...

"Home is where the heart is."

Drink...

" The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man."

This is what happens when my soul gets lost in everyday... building, cars, businesses, highways, schedules. I need to find that space where nature is pure and untouched. Where it is free to grow wild and allows me to breath in it's essence and beauty that I often loose site of. It teaches me to let go and just be one with all that is. To once again drink in mother natures peace...

A Plan...

"You don't always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breath, trust, let go and see what happens."

This is hard for me. I'm such a planner and want/need to know all the details and I'm sure it gives me some sense of feeling like I have control. But I find myself wanting more of this in my life - to... breath... trust... let go... and see what happens. This is a present moment by present moment challenge, but with each moment that passes I hope I will get a little better at it!

Breath...

" In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away."
A reminder today that what len I look through my life with - defines it. When I look through the album of my life and see all the present moments that took my breath away I can't help but be in awe. Let my focus be present, so as not to miss any of those moments in my "NOW" that might take my breath away.

Friday...

I've had a marathon of a week and it won't be over until about 9 tonight. But I have a small window of time in-between one thing until the other and I am SO tired, I'm taking a short nap and a few present moments to catch my breath. It feels so good to pause...

NO...

"Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just breath and believe that everything will work our for the best."

I need this often!!!!
NO thinking, NO wonder, NO imagining and NO obsessing!
JUST BREATH in this present moment... and believe that "all is well."

Breath...

My day was a challenge, but at the end of it, a friend reminded me "to breath." Just what I needed to end my day with. I tried hard to follow "Wherever you are, be all there." To not offer resistance and some present moments were successful and some where not. But I will just let the set sun on my troubles and "breath."

Breath...

I woke up today very overwhelmed!!! I'm trying to BREATH through each present moment and offer NO resistance. Some moments are more successful then others, but that's okay. I know "this too shall pass" and I'm trying to flow with what is.

A Fathers Choice...

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers that "choose" everyday to be a father to their children!
And thank you to my father who passed away nineteen and a half years ago ~ he used his last breath to let me know he loved me.

Brick and Mortar...

I'm so grateful today for Mother Nature and all her beauty. As I was driving around town, from one place to the next, surrounded by roads, cars, and buildings, all I could think of was how I just wanted to walk among the trees and breath! Breath in all the oxygen, hug a tree, dance in the leaves, smell the fragrance of the cool damp woods, and just be in that space. I'm grateful that I have a backyard that provides a small taste of all that and I can recharge and connect when needed.

Schedule...

When my kids where little they use to watch Winnie The Pooh all the time. I could relate to all the characters at one time or another, but right now I'm feeling like "rabbit" when he use to run around saying how he had to stay on schedule. It seems like I'm trying to pack so much into each day to get stuff done. Then I'm reminded of Pooh and how he loved each present moment... I take a deep breath and move on.

Racing...

"If your always racing to the next moment, what happens to the one you're in?"

This is a good reminder when my days get so full and I'm not paying attention to the present moment, to slow down and ~ pause ~ breath ~ and be present, because when that moment is gone, it's gone for good. There can be so much wonder and beauty in that space, but when I'm racing to the next I miss it!

Breath...

"The Trick is to keep Breathing."

Somedays this is all I need to remember.

Dreaming...

"Your dream doesn't have an expiration date. Take a deep breath and try again!"

Reminder to self today...
~ just because another day has passed doesn't mean your dreams are fading. There is still time to have a loving relationship, there is still time to continue to write ~ NO EXPIRATION DATE!
Take a deep breath and keep dreaming...

Sitting Still...

"We all believe there is something: a train to catch on time, an apple to pick in the fall, a coin we dropped by the parking meter to retrieve. All of this is true, It is a moment. It cannot be held on to and made forever."
What freedom when you sit down in the middle of your busy life, to unroot the urgency, the feeling that everything is an emergency."
words from: The True Secret of Writing

Finding that moment to "stop" and be still is hard. If my body is not running my mind is. I often feel that sense of urgency for everything, forgetting that when I can quiet my mind or just sit still and allow the calm, the urgency passes. It's a habit I'm working on - progress not perfection.
One breath at a time...

Resistance

I'm feeling resistance to "what is" today. Not sure what "that is" only that maybe I "should" be making it different or that I "should" know what I am suppose to do. Just feeling unsettled and that makes me feel like I "should' make something happen, even if I don't know what that is. So I do know to take a deep breath in and a deep breath out then LET GO. Letting go of there having to be a solution that is up to me. Just put one foot in front of the other, one breath after the other and relax and know all is well even if I don't know what's next. Release all resistance...............

A moment to PAUSE

STOP - I close my eyes, breath deeply and PAUSE........

My mind can spin with "to do's", "shoulds" (they say don't should all over yourself), and "have tos", which can sometimes cloud my view of all that is good and right in my world. When I pause and look around I see the love and joy life has to offer me. I don't have to reach far, travel great distances or make something up. I just pause and it's all there - always was! It was only my interpretation that had changed. I am grateful for the present moment that allows me another chance to see clearly all that surrounds me. To embrace it, and breath.
