The Wishies...

As I was out quieting my mind this morning, I noticed the dandelion seeds, which I have always called "wishies" and are definitely on my favorite things list, floating across the sky and how they will land somewhere and something will grow. It got me to thinking about how when I put my loving thoughts out into the universe you never know what good or loving things will grow from them. And even when I extend those same thoughts for myself how much better I flourish and feel about each present moment I am in. So today I send the seeds of, PEACE, LOVE and JOY to grow and spread upon all those in need. Take what you like and spread the rest!

Drink...

" The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man."

This is what happens when my soul gets lost in everyday... building, cars, businesses, highways, schedules. I need to find that space where nature is pure and untouched. Where it is free to grow wild and allows me to breath in it's essence and beauty that I often loose site of. It teaches me to let go and just be one with all that is. To once again drink in mother natures peace...

Out Loud...

A friend and I were chatting the other day by way of facebook and mentioned how saying something out loud helps the healing. And there is, something about saying "it" out loud that helps! So tonight I thought I would say something out loud because I keep trying to tell myself I need to get over it, but it clearly is not happening. See... I have/had a niece that is only five years younger then my oldest son and five years older then my middle son, and I was very close with her since she was little, but just in the past six months, she and her mother quit talking to me. I've reached out to them and have received NO response! My feelings are hurt and as much as I know it's more about them then me, I find myself filled with lost and sadness, that for whatever reason they no longer choose to communicate. So having said it out loud, maybe my heart will start to find some peace with questions that I may never have answers too and with what feels like such a great loss.

Seeds...

I came across this plant today growing in a field and it got me to thinking. A bird probable dropped a seed and an unusual plant grew in an unusual place. So I thought when we as people plant seeds of hope, love, kindness, generosity, or peace out in our world... you never know what or where something may grow from that seed.

Battles...

"Be selective in your battles, for sometimes peace is better than being right."
Kushandwizdom

This is something I have certainly learned with age. Pick your battles! Many many years ago I had a hard time letting go when everything always seems like it was so wrong. I felt if I let it go, that it would never change,  so I held on so tight, changing nothing and having anything but peace. It feels much better today to just let it pass on by.

Ocean...

The ocean waves offers peace and time for contemplation. Time to listen to mother nature as she speaks her soft whisper in the wind.

Peace...

"Do you want to be right or do you want peace?"

Yesterday was one of those days... do I want to be right or do I want peace? In the end when it's all said and done I may end up with both but I'm almost at the finish line and I'm not willing to sacrifice mine and my children's peace of mind to win. I know that "it's" not all up to me. The universe will offer me things I never dreamed possible. I want to be open and receptive...

Grieving...

"Grief Attacks"
When grieving we can be going along and everything seems to be okay. then out of nowhere grief hits full force. These are not set backs, they are a part of the grieving experience.

Grief... an old friend returns. I'd been wondering what was going on with me the last few weeks. I'd be okay one moment and then feeling sad and crying the next.  It's a process of letting go, of leaving behind, of complete unknown. I've know "grief" before and it has come back to visit once again. Now that I know, I can continue to be kinder to myself, to help my children walk through this seemingly dark and scary time with grace and peace. Welcome old friend... we shall walk this path together until we no longer need each other.

One Step...

When I was hanging out with my wonderful group of friends yesterday, one of the topics we talked about was the transition going on in my life. But one friend keep saying  "one step at a time" and there was something about the tone in her voice, that brought me peace in that present moment. So all day today I keep hearing her voice chanting in my head...

"One step at a time Nancy, one step at a time"

A Salute...

This day I offer a salute to my dad who served in Vietnam three times and did his duty as a solider. I'll never know the toll the war took on my father's mind, body and spirit but I know he did the best that he could with the information he had.
 May you rest in peace...
Love,
 your daughter ~ Nancy

Hurting...

I was given hurtful words from someone close to me who was hurting and felt the need to hurt someone- anyone. It can be hard not to take them personally. But I have to remember what I always asked the kids when they would come to me, hurt from words someone said to them, I'd ask, "do you believe that is true?", and they would say no - then let it go and know it is about them not you. So this is what I will do today. Wish that person "peace" and KNOW it is about them not me.

Setting Sun...

I love the setting sun and how it symbolizes the ending of another day. It makes me reflects on how well I loved and how well I lived this day. As I sleep, I find peace that "all is well" and sweet dreams transcends me to a new dawn.

A new year...

For the past few years I have been slowly moving people as well as things in and out of my life. My two car garage has been a holding space for a lot of "stuff" over the years and has never been used to house a car. As this new year rolls around I am looking forward to dumping some things, selling others, giving away and opening lots of space for continued good things and people to come flooding in. And maybe even put my car in the garage for the first time in almost 20 years. There is joy to be found in reorganizing and replacing, a new welcoming of more peace and less chaos. I want to embrace the process and see it as a new chapter that I can write in my book of life.
All is Well...
