Give Sorrow Words... ~ Macbeth, William Shakespeare

Today - My grief swells like the wave that swells and collects all that lay beneath, then scatters it upon the sand, exposed and raw. Today - I find comfort in others words, words that express more then my soul is able to say.

~Sometimes the purpose of the day is to merely feel our sadness, knowing that as we do, we allow whole layers of grief, like old skin cells to drop off us. ~ Marianne Williamson

~"Ah, I smiled. I'm not really here to keep you from freaking out. I'm here to be with you while you freak out, or grieve, or laugh, or suffer, or sing. It is a ministry of presence. It is showing up with a loving heart." ~Kate Braestrup, Here If You Need Me: A True Story

~Grief is not a disorder, a disease or a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical, and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love. The only cure for grief is to grieve. ~ Earl Grollman

~"Deep grief sometimes is almost like a specific location, a coordinate on a map of time. When you are standing in that forest of sorrow, you cannot ever imagine you could ever find your way to a better place. But if someone can assure you that they themselves have stood in that same place, and now have moved on, sometimes this will bring hope." ~Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love

~Those who have suffered understand suffering and therefore extend their hand. ~ Patti Smith

Men...

Growing up there weren't a lot of positive men in my life and then when I married my former husband he introduced me to one awesome man, his name was Father Eugene McCreesh. He was a Jesuit priest and just a very compassionate man. He uses to go to the beach with us every year and came up to the house on every occasion. My middle son was named after him. I was missing him a lot today, missing his quiet words, his big bear hugs, and his loving presence. But I am forever grateful that I have such kind and wonderful memories to remember!

Enough...

 "When someone is going through a storm, your silent presence is more powerful than a million empty words."

This is so true... There have been times in my life I felt so much from someone's presence. For that person to be there and not have the right words or activity to make it all better. And there have been times in my life that I have done the same for another. It is a reminder that " we are enough."

My Soul Craves...

I hadn't watched Oprah's Super Soul Sunday in a long time. The channel had been taking off my cable choices but yesterday I decided to sit down and try to watch it on my phone. It was a heavy subject for me having experienced so many deaths in my former families lives, but I got a message that I was suppose to hear...

"Let somebody love you"

I realized after hearing that, how much I don't allow that to happen, and instead, offer in return, a resistance to its existence. THIS is what "my soul craves." Madonna Badger said in this episode of Super Soul Sunday that when she called someone up to share her grief one day, the other person on the phone told her to, "find someone to love you" and by "letting someone love you" she found healing.
I want to let this sink deeply within my soul and give it room to grow. And the next time someone offers kind words, gives me a gift, or when I reach out to share my grief, I will try to remember to feed my soul what it craves, by...
"Letting somebody love me!"

This is a cooperative blog a friend and I are writing, exploring different topics. This is her blog..

The Letter "K"...

When my kids were little they would watch Sesame Street and one of the sketches was,"brought to you by the letter - " and it would be a different letter each time. So when I saw this today it reminded me of the letter "K" and it got me to thinking about what things/words begin with the letter "K".

Five Words...

Clouds, rain, hazy, shade and breeze are all words that take on a whole new meaning when most of the work you do is outside and your car has no air condition. This five words are now ones I view with a new perspective. I've always enjoyed the clouds and shade on a hot summer day but right now, they can be the life saver in a week or a day. Today was one of those days, and I didn't notice until I got home what a difference the clouds/rain made. I had a little more energy and actually felt like doing more when I got home instead of sitting down for a couple of hours just to generate enough energy to make dinner. It's the little things ~ I am grateful!!!

Opening...

I'm learning through a number of people lately how important it is to share and be vulnerable with those I walk this planet with. It's hard to open up and exposed my inter being, but you never know who you might touch with your words. We are all connected in this life and even though our paths are different they are still all the same. And when others share a part of themselves, they unknowingly give me the courage to do the same.

Define...

I realized yesterday how much I have been defining the "space" I am in right now in my life as being a failure, or a life of nothingness, but after talking to someone and listening to my own words as they were shared with another, I see this "space" that I'm in, as a transition. A time of discovery and learning, of seeing and thinking in new ways. Nothing has changed but my definition of that I see ~ which changes everything!

Encouraging...

There are times when others words say just what I need. Here are some encouraging words that helped me today...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It was all a matter of consciously applying my focus. Grievances came from looking backward. But miracles come from focusing on the life in front of me, and the power of the current."
" It doesn't matter how many situations you've blown or missed or turned into nightmares. We live in an abundant universe. It's always waiting to help you turn your life around."
"It takes wild courage to start again. It takes power to drop the past and give everything to our current lives."
" Let go of what didn't happen this year the way you thought it should. The Universe is always giving. There's so much love coming down the pike. There are ideas, shifts, and opportunities flying your way. There are so many chances to begin again and again and it's always the perfect time and you've never missed out. It's all here for you. Only we limit what we allow ourselves to receive."
Capable...
"There is no passion to be found playing small - in setting for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."
Nelson Mandela
Thanks for the wise words...
Packed Full...
In my life there are people who have giving me gifts that a simple "thank you" doesn't seem to be enough. But my hope is that when they hear these words, they will know, they're "packed full" of : gratitude, love, appreciation and more thankfulness then they will ever know.
Two simple words that mean so much ~ THANK YOU!
Hurting...
I was given hurtful words from someone close to me who was hurting and felt the need to hurt someone- anyone. It can be hard not to take them personally. But I have to remember what I always asked the kids when they would come to me, hurt from words someone said to them, I'd ask, "do you believe that is true?", and they would say no - then let it go and know it is about them not you. So this is what I will do today. Wish that person "peace" and KNOW it is about them not me.
Song...
Years ago as a teenager, I use to play the guitar and write songs. It was very therapeutic at that time in my life. When I saw this picture it brought back good memories of how the words I needed to express came out in song and soothed my soul. Words have always brought me comfort in one form or another. After my song writing days, I kept journals and now I write a blog, articles and my fiction novel. Having books by my bedside bring me comfort as I read others peoples words too.
Words...
Words are powerful...
I had lunch with a friend yesterday and as we were talking I happen to say "I don't want to be stupid about it" and she corrected me and said "I don't want to be foolish about it, not stupid." That small statement brought me the reminder I needed about how just changing one word in a sentence can make all the difference in my thinking.
Deep Speaking
"Speaking deeply has something to do with letting things pass through our heart as they are, the way ink is pressed through silk to imprint a lasting design that we can wear."
I'm trying to think or pause before I speak, but talking with someone or in a group I find it hard not to just spill words without giving them second thought . Then I go home with time to reflect and am left with regret about some of what I felt the need to say that may not have been necessary. It's about progress not perfection. When awareness is present I am able to pause and speak deeply.
Helpful words...
Others words seem to express just what I need to hear sometimes and I find that is enough to allow words that are not mine to speak what my heart needs...
"Remain calm, all is within reach; all you have to do is show up everyday, stay true to your path and you will surely find the treasure you seek."
Jackson Kiddard
When we expose ourselves, when we show ourselves, when we let our true selves been seen, we set ourselves free. And we also set others free to be their true, authentic, broken yet perfect selves.
What we crave is connection, to be valued, to be cherished and to have the certainty that we are enough to be loved.
The truth of who we are and how we feel is available in any moment. And by telling that truth, we set ourselves free and begin to allow others to do so as well.
Life loves us and supports us. And when we accept that, we can let go and let Life live us, perfectly, wherever we are at.
Words........
When words ~ keep you from feeling good ~ use them as firewood
(Train - Save Me, San Francisco)
Words are powerful. They are letters strung together with the ability to enlighten or be harmful. I have allowed words to drop out of my mouth with no thought of how they would affect another. Or times I have been aware and chose to say them anyway. Sometimes no words can be even more harmful. You have nothing to filter but your own thoughts, nothing to work out. There are times it is good to let the words flow. To see what it is I'm feeling. I have surprised myself before with random words that I have said. I didn't realize I felt a certain way until I heard the words said out loud. Maybe that is why releasing my writing out into the world is hard. It is revealing, intimate and about me. Even fiction are words of my choosing and when you send them out into the world you are letting go. This blog is a small attempt to let my words float freely with no judgement and no guarentees. And when I keep my words in the present moment they are lighter, more loving, and free.
borrowed WORDS
 about the present moment.......
*It is never to late to really be here.
It  is never to late to enjoy the moment.
It is never to last to love and be loved.
It is never to late to know the truth.
*Every moment your not present is a moment you don't get back.
