From where do you draw your energy...

I draw my energy from many things, people and places...

Being in my home surrounded by all the things I love
Having all my children together
Laughing and sharing with friends
A long walk along the beach
Walking in my backyard
Watching the sunset
Sitting under a tree
Finding quiet time

Quiet Time....

I'm back from spending time with family and when I'm there it's always a house full. Lot's of cooking, laughing and hanging out together, but when I come home I find my quiet time. I need quiet to recharge my soul and build up my energy for going out into the world again. But being with people you love gives you a bust that you can't get from being alone. Both are necessary...

Emerge...

The other day I was comparing myself to all people who knew what they wanted from when they were young. All their creative ideas had been nurtured and tended to for so long, and I found myself asking why - why couldn't I have known and flourished when I was in my youth. But then it came to me later that day... I did what my heart wanted when I was young - and that was to be a mother. That was my creative path. Was it done perfectly or did it turn out as I had hoped - NO. But no dreams are obtained without some failure and trial and error. There are creative ideas that started out one way and completely ended up nothing like you thought it would be. I am now in a new place where my mothering is not in the for front of my life and new creative energy is trying to emerge.

Five Words...

Clouds, rain, hazy, shade and breeze are all words that take on a whole new meaning when most of the work you do is outside and your car has no air condition. This five words are now ones I view with a new perspective. I've always enjoyed the clouds and shade on a hot summer day but right now, they can be the life saver in a week or a day. Today was one of those days, and I didn't notice until I got home what a difference the clouds/rain made. I had a little more energy and actually felt like doing more when I got home instead of sitting down for a couple of hours just to generate enough energy to make dinner. It's the little things ~ I am grateful!!!

Personal...

"Sometimes I shut down and don't talk to anyone for days. It's nothing personal."
Raine Cooper

I do this from time to time and I would hope that others don't take it personally. As an introvert it's a way of recharging. Being out in the world is very hard for me and it takes a lot of energy - sometimes more then others. And on those times when I'm so drained, I shut down and retreat.

Hugs...

"...hugging is a powerful way to transfer energy to another person, because the two people's auras merge for that brief moment of a hug."
Kelly A Turner, Ph.D
Radical Remission pg. 70

My daughter made this sign one day when she was hanging out with friends. She said that was a fun and interesting day. Everyone reacts so different when offered the opportunity for a "free hug."
Go HUG someone today and feel the transfer of energy!

Egg...

Sometimes it's the simple things in life... like waking this morning knowing I have a beautiful egg I can have for breakfast. The egg comes from a friend I hold dear and she cares about her chickens and their health. The egg not only nutritious my body but my soul today. I know exactly where it comes from and it provides good energy. Yes... it is only a simple egg, but offers so much!

Scary...

"Letting go is scary. It's a free fall, an act of surrender."
"We're not use to letting go. We're used to hanging on for dear life. We hang on for lots of reasons."
"We're simply afraid of the free fall, afraid of coming alive as ourselves."
"Letting go frees up your energy and your attention. In the open field of surrender lie the seeds of new possibilities."
Daphne Rose Kingma

In my process of letting go of my house, these are all good things I need to keep remembering. And letting go is not something that I only do once, it is part of life! When I'm done with this process there will be another and another. Each bringing me to a deeper sense of wonder and possibilities for my life. But as I stand in the midst of the emotions, I have a hard time seeing all that can and will be. But I am grateful to be surrounded by people that can see what I can not and one day I will look back and gaze upon the vision they knew was possible.

Observer...

The next few days I'm going to be in a room full of people and I find it so easy to let my mind make snap judgments instead of just observations. So that is my goal for the time I'm there ~ to be an observer, without judgement of whether anything or anyone is good, bad, right, or wrong. I want to be open to the energy around me and let things flow freely. I want to allow myself to be "present in each  moment." Then I will be back blogging about all that I observed!

October.......

I have chosen October as my "no worries" free month. I am experimenting with the idea of practising everyday for a month to not pick up worry, or fear about my life. To wake everyday and set my intention to only GOOD thoughts and expecting miracles. What harm can it do? My cup is half full or half empty, it's however you want to look at it. When dark clouds of thoughts come my way I refuse to let them in. Positive energy reins over me.
