A Lot...

"Little by little, a little becomes A LOT."
Tanzanian Proverb

I try to keep reminding myself of this each day when I have so many things I'm trying to get done and want to do and only so much time in a day. Little by little, each step is progress and when I look back it all adds up to A LOT!

Decision...

"My decision-making skills closely resemble that of a squirrel when crossing the street."

I had to laugh when I read this because this is how I feel so often especially lately when trying to decide what baby blanket to make for my granddaughter. But I have this trouble with trying to decide on presents for people too, even if it's something I'm making. I've always frustrated myself with this issue. But at least I can laugh at myself and that's progress.

Okay...

"Be okay with not knowing for sure what might come next but know that whatever it is... YOU will be OK."
This is my mantra everyday. I try in each present moment to be okay with not knowing and then knowing I will be okay. It's a skill I continue to practice and find I am making progress. So I will offer myself  "love" and continue on.

Lesson...

"Don't take it personal"

This is a statement someone use to say to me all the time. And it's a lesson I'm still continuing to learn, though I must say it comes a bit quicker then it use too. Sometimes it's hard to remember when someone does or says something, it's more about them then it is about you. But in that present moment when the feeling stings, it can be hard to NOT take it personal. As with any lesson, it's about progress not perfection.

Being Kind to Yourself...

Feeling sick again, got me to pondering about when I'm feeling "not up to par" how I treat myself. Years ago when I had major surgery, people were surprised at how soon I was up and doing things, under the circumstances. Looking back, it was so much about how I loved myself. And now I can at least allow myself down time and let myself off the hook for accomplishing some things. It is still something I struggle with but it's nice to look back and see progress.

Deep Speaking

"Speaking deeply has something to do with letting things pass through our heart as they are, the way ink is pressed through silk to imprint a lasting design that we can wear."

I'm trying to think or pause before I speak, but talking with someone or in a group I find it hard not to just spill words without giving them second thought . Then I go home with time to reflect and am left with regret about some of what I felt the need to say that may not have been necessary. It's about progress not perfection. When awareness is present I am able to pause and speak deeply.
