Years...
I have this habit of holding on to the last little bit of somethings, afraid I won't have anymore. I'm not sure if it was from my growing up years of not having much in material things and then in a marriage where money went down the drain like water. But this hand soap in the picture a friend gave me at least five years ago and the little bag of herbs for putting in your bath a friend gave me about that long ago. So my goal this past year was to actually use and enjoy them and know when they were gone that other good things will come into my life. I'm proud to say the soap is almost empty and I have one bag left to use in my bath water. It feels okay, like I will have enough of what I need and want in my life without having to hold on, thinking that somehow if I don't use that last little bit I'll always have it. I do that with other things in my life too and have worked to release in order to expect more good things.

Balance...
This week was busy and lots of "things" around the house got left until there is time to get them done. Well today had space in it and as time went on I found myself overwhelmed with so much rushing. I know I can't get it all accomplished today and I will have some time tomorrow but I decided to stop doing the " to do" list and find something I enjoy - and DO IT! I'm feeling better and now have a better attitude to get back to my list. I have always struggled with this balance of work and pleasure. Always waiting to do the thing that gives me pleasure till after I'm done with the work. And that never happens because the work is never done and then I'm going to bed unhappy knowing I just did the same thing I've always done. So I caught the feeling today and decided to do something different.

Realize...
"Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have."
Eckhart Tolle
With the hurry of everyday life, I forget to "realize deeply" that this present moment I am in, is all I ever have. When I'm lost in the unknown of my future, or dwell in the past, I lose present moments that cannot be refunded! So let me enjoy NOW...

Decorations...
I was over at someone's house the other day, pet sitting, and they had halloween decorations all over. It was really cute. Later I thought how "not" like that I am. I've never been a decorate your house ( inside or out) kind of person, but I do enjoy others enthusiasm for the holidays. A big thank you to all, for sharing your joy of the holiday!

Chores...
Today was a day to get some "chores" done. Since I'm such a home body, it's something I enjoy. I love making my home a little more tidy, a little more livable. Some chores aren't my favorite but I still enjoy them because I know they add that "homemaker" touch to my home. Doing the laundry, planning ahead for meals, putting away clutter, making my bathroom sparkle, whatever it is, I honor my home and all that it takes to keep it a warm and inviting place for all.

TV show...
I've never been a big TV watcher but there are certain shows that I really look forward to and love when they bring them back like " Who's Line Is It Anyway " http://whoselineonline.org. I think the show is so funny ~ ENJOY!

Books...
I've always thought there are too many books in the world and not enough time to read them all. But for quite awhile now I just have not been able to allow myself that space to "sit down and read." At the library yesterday I picked up two more books and my hope is to "enjoy" the escape and read! Not sure that will happen since I have several books sitting by my bedside that I've have half finished. I use to relish the night time, crawling into bed and getting my book, but lately I find myself watching TV that I don't even care about and never picking up the book.

Practice...
"They say, practice makes perfect." Last night my daughter and I were over at a good friends and while her daughter and mine were video chatting with another friend, we decided to watch a movie. And even though we were watching a movie that is all we did. We usually would have our phones, knitting, or some form of a project we were working on, trying to multi-task, but instead we practiced the art of doing nothing - nothing but watching the movie. I have to say it certainly was more enjoyable to focus on being in good company and JUST watch the movie and nothing else! I plan to use this as a reminder in other areas of my life, to "be" in the present moment and ENJOY!

Inspired...
Today I decided to let a picture inspire me. This one struck me as what I want to do everyday ~ To get up every morning and say " welcome world, I'm ready." I want to wake up excited about my life and all that it holds within that day ~ in that present moment! To have childlike wonder, that anything is possible, if only I believe!
So today I offer to myself - a gesture of self-love... To believe, to be excited and to just ENJOY this present moment I am in.

Enjoy the Ride...
Everyday as I am looking for work that will fit my life I also work on letting go of the results. I am not sure where the next stop on my journey is taking me but I'm trying to love the ride. Sometimes it's hard to let go when the only thing I've ever wanted since I was a young girl was to be a wife and mother. So while the path I'm on "looks" like I'm not getting to that place, I get stuck. Stuck feeling like it will never happen (at least the wife part, I have three wonderful children). But I can't stay in that stuck place because it doesn't change anything, it only holds me back from stepping onto the train of life. I find myself wanting the old people, places and things just because there familiar not because that is what I really want. The challenge in each day is to keep the focus. I know what I want and I know I deserve it but what I don't know is the path to getting there. So I let go and try new paths, new people, new places and sit back and enjoy the scenery.

A happy birthday family event.........
March is the month of spring flowers, warming weather, and lighter days. But it is also the month of my family birthdays. It starts with mine, then my middle son, my sister, my daughter and would have been my oldest son next (but he was three weeks late and was born on April 5th) but I still consider him born in March - because that was my intention.
Looking back over the years I never fully saw March as a month of celebration. I was always doing way to much for to many people and not happy about it but not ready to change. It was getting the party planned and all that included, while my birthday barely acknowledged. As the children have grown older and circumstances have become easier (because of being ready to finally change) I am feeling the hint of celebration. To embrace each person, and that would include myself on their special day and just ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!!! I look forward to the years to come but for today I will bath in the WONDER of the present moment as we celebrate another birthday today. And Happy Birthday to us ALL..........

Needed a good laugh.....
I decided to borrow someone else's joke....... Enjoy the laughter! : ) (I did)
This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the shed. George opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things.
He immediately phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and George said no and explained the situation. Then they explained that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be there when available.
George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them all."
Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

A single moment
There is only a single moment in which we can truly be alive, and that is in the present moment!
(from :Thich Nhat Hanh Book: You Are Here)
The challenge is being alive in this moment. My mind worries, wanders, and waits. All taking me away from this very moment I am in. But the good side of that is I can start over anytime because I get a new moment to try and be present. It frees me. I feel light inside when I surrender to the here and now. I let go of my worries and enjoy............
