A Vegan Food Swap...

This month I participated in something called "A Vegan Food Swap". I found it on the site,  http://www.theverdantlife.com/p/vegan-food-swap.html that I was following. The picture is the content from my package I received all the way from sunny San Francisco CA. ( a book, a sweet note, brown rice and some nutritional yeast flakes to get me started). My daughter and I are gluten and dairy free and one of the things we miss ALOT is cheese! So we were very excited to get this book.  Now to figure out which cheese to make first.
My package was sent to Jamie from http://theradioactivegan.blogspot.com. They say a stranger is only a friend we've never met ~ so thank you Mel for your thoughtful package and to Jamie for the opportunity to offer a little fun with food!

Courage...

A friend of mine had a vision/collage get-together that I was not able to attend. It was to start off the new year with a word and vision you wanted to focus on through out the year. Mine I decided, was going to be COURAGE. I need courage to step out of my comfort zone and into the unknown. If I am to create what I want in my life, then courage is what I need! Courage doesn't come with a manual, so I will borrow from what life has to offer.
Other people's lives offer insight into what it means to be courageous, quotes keep me reminded, and practice of showing up for myself is a daily dose of courage. A wise man once said,

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. "

Routine...

I'm trying to establish a routine of the things I want more of in my life. Like unstructured writing, planned writing, exercise ( includes, yoga, weights and walking) and more thought out meals for myself. I've read it takes weeks and months to establish habit's and routines, and I'm hoping the good habit's will start out weighing the bad because they are producing JOY. But I only have one rule and that is there is NO judgement allowed. If I didn't get the yoga done or the writing I'd intended I can do it later that day or tomorrow. It's more about self care and continuing to strive for what I want in my life and to focus on what I am doing right instead on what I'm not.
